The conductive slip ring is an electrical part of the automatic equipment used to rotate and transmit current and various control signals. According to its shape, the conductive slip ring can be roughly divided into column-type conductive slip ring(collector ring) and pancake type conductive slip ring. Many users do not know the specific difference between the two types of conductive slip ring, and do not know how to choose the conductive slip ring suitable for their equipment when installing and using it, Today, Xiaobian will explain the difference between the column type conductive slip ring and the disc type conductive slip ring.
The cylindrical conductive slip ring(collector ring) is what we often call a conductive slip ring. According to its installation form, it can be divided into conductive slip ring and a flange conductive slip ring. The via conductive slip ring is also called shaft penetrating conductive slip ring, which is to pass the rotating shaft through the middle of the conductive slip ring, fix the rotor of the conductive slip ring and the rotating shaft together, and the rotor of the conductive slip ring rotates with the rotation of the rotating shaft. The flange conductive slip ring is generally installed on the end face of the rotating shaft, and the rotor of the conductive slip ring also rotates with the rotation of the rotating shaft. The cylindrical conductive slip ring is generally used in an environment where the installation height is not limited, and the cylindrical conductive slip ring is one of the most used conductive slip rings for current equipment. The height of the cylindrical conductive slip ring will become longer with the increase in the number of current signal paths.
Conductive slip rings can be generally divided into column type and pancake type according to their appearance. Column type can be generally divided into through hole installation and flange installation. Pancake conductive slip rings can be divided into those with and without shells. The external dimensions of the cylindrical conductive slip ring will change with the size of the inner diameter and the number of lines at any time. The external dimensions of the disc type also change with the size of the inner hole and the number of paths. The difference between the two is that the more ways of column type, the higher the height of the conductive slip ring, and the more ways of disc type, the larger the outer diameter of the conductive slip ring.
At present, the inner hole of the column type can be 3mm, and the outer diameter can be 35mm at least. If the PCB slip ring is not equipped with a shell, the minimum thickness can be 3mm, and the outer diameter can be 10mm at least. This kind of miniature conductive slip ring is mostly used in various electric toys or small automatic equipment, which can well solve the wire winding phenomenon caused by the rotation of the equipment, and at the same time ensure that the equipment can transmit various current and control signals uninterruptedly while rotating.
